LFTR PLLR vs. The End Of book available Friday!

Treehouse will be the first place in town (hell, possibly the first place anywhere!) to be selling the new Lifter Puller book LFTR PLLR vs. The End Of. It will be for sale when we open on Black Friday, November 27 at 11 AM.

The book was put together by the band, with layout by designer extraordinaire and Evening Rig frontman Jason Miller and interviews conducted by Jessica Hopper. It's a 97 page softcover full-color book featuring tons of rare photos, artwork/flyers/posters, complete lyrics, and an oral history of the band as told by people who were there (engineer Dave Gardner, Twin Cities rock ambassador Lori Barbero, Dillinger Four's Paddy Costello, Trenchmouth's Damon Locks, Syd Butler of Les Savy Fav and Frenchkiss Records, Chris Newmyer of Self-Starter Foundation, Dan Cote of Heart of a Champion and Treehouse Records, and more). It also comes with a download card redeemable for a digital download of the ENTIRE Lifter Puller discography.

Gospel Gossip in-store/record release!

Gospel Gossip, fronted by our very own part-time employee Sarah ("Ruckus"), has a brand new EP out on Guilt Ridden Pop. Dreamland is available as a CD, or as a gorgeous white vinyl record with a silkscreened cover. The vinyl includes a CD version as well.

To celebrate this release, they will be giving a free in-store performance at Treehouse on Saturday, June 27 at 5 PM! (There is also an official release show on Friday night at the Turf Club.)

Free Michael Yonkers CD-Rs!

In conjunction with today's City Pages feature on experimental and noise music, the legendary Michael Yonkers has given us a handful of sampler CD-Rs to give away to the first half-dozen or so people to ask for them. They will not be here long, so get on it!

Dexter Romweber Duo live in-store - Thursday, May 7!

We are thrilled to host rockabilly and roots music icon Dexter Romweber for a free in-store performance on Thursday, May 7 at 6 PM.

Dex, formerly of the seminal garage band Flat Duo Jets, and his sister Sara have a great new record called "Ruins of Berlin" on Bloodshot Records (featuring guest vocals from Neko Case, Cat Power, and Exene Cervenka) and are in town that night to open for the Detroit Cobras at the Varsity Theater.

Here's some YouTube footage of an in-store they did at Criminal Records in Atlanta:
