Tickets available for Tav Falco's Panther Burns at Bayport BBQ!

The hippest joint between here and Chicago is the Bayport BBQ.  Chris Johnson's deep blues juke joint on the St. Croix River is celebrating its second anniversary on October 12 with the legendary Tav Falco and his Unapproachable Panther Burns.  As of today, we are selling tickets for $22.50 each.
The Bayport BBQ is a labor of love for Chris.  He consistently brings in great acts and puts them in an intimate setting.  We're assuming he's not getting rich off this... he's doing it because he's a true music fan.  It's in his soul.  That makes him a kindred spirit, and the kind of person and business we love to support.
As for Tav Falco... let's just say this is an extremely cool artist to celebrate the anniversary.  Tav is an underground American music legend.  His Panther Burns were at the forefront of the Memphis garage scene and the American blues/punk/psych/rockabilly scene of the late '70s and early '80s.
The Panther Burns have existed in various lineups since 1979 (the early days included a lead guitarist named Alex Chilton).  During his 30+ years as a performer, Tav Falco has been cited as an influence by just about every significant garage-punk act who has come along since, including The Gories, The Oblivians, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Flat Duo Jets, and the White Stripes.  The Panther Burns' 1981 debut album Behind the Magnolia Curtain was recently reissued on vinyl by Fat Possum Records, and this is their first performance in these parts in many years.  Not to be missed!

Friday, October 12 @ 8 PM
For tickets, contact Bayport BBQ directly or stop in to Treehouse.
