Nero's Neptune Records is thrilled to announce a special CD release party, celebrating THREE (!) new releases by two flagship artists, Spider John Koerner and Charlie Parr. This event will be held at the Cedar Cultural Center on Friday, July 9th, at 7 PM, and will feature live appearances by "Spider" John Koerner and Charlie Parr, as well as the first public screening in nearly 40 years of Koerner's legendary 1970 cult film "The Secret Of Sleep."

The 72-year old Koerner is a bona fide folk music legend, influencing artists as diverse as Bob Dylan, John Lennon, David Bowie, Lucinda Williams, Bonnie Raitt, Beck and the Doors. His first Nero's Neptune release couples a CD reissue of his landmark 1972 DIY LP "Music Is Just A Bunch Of Notes," originally recorded for co-conspirator Dave Ray's Sweet Jane label and featuring backing by Willie (Murphy) & The Bumblebees, with a DVD of "The Secret Of Sleep." Also, released simultaneously on both CD and limited edition LP, is "March 1963," a recently discovered solo Koerner performance from 1963. It was recorded for a Milwaukee radio station a mere 9 hours after Koerner, Ray & Glover's groundbreaking "Blues, Rags & Hollers" sessions. Koerner will be embarking upon his first U.K. tour in over 25 years in late August. His Cedar Cultural Center performance promises to be a very special evening.

Completing this co-bill is Duluth, Minnesota's own Charlie Parr. "When The Devil Goes Blind," Charlie¹s first release on Nero's Neptune Records, is easily his most fully realized effort to date. Produced by Bo Ramsey (former guitarist with Greg Brown and Lucinda Williams), the LP melds Charlie's astonishing finger picking and slide techniques with great tunes and a new vocal confidence. This breakthrough album promises to expand well beyond Parr's ever-growing fan base of folk-blues purists, fun-loving neo-hippies and American Primitive beard-scratchers. Do not miss this performance!

As if the appearance of these two immensely talented artists weren't enough, the evening will commence with a special screening of "The Secret of Sleep."
